Title: Repairs on vessel almost done, the blast occurs.(H1)

Six of the Fifteen casualties were seriously injured. The 50m-long supply boat Rainbow Star was being repaired and was in the final stages of repair after being berthed at Kreuz Shipbuiding & engineering in Tuas for almost three months. A massive explosion rocked the vessel just before the lunch hour yesterday. Immediately, the order was for the electricity supply to the ship to be turned off. As the fire raged, those who were well enough went around looking for those who were more seriously hurt. The 15 casualties were helped off the vessel, some could walk but others had to be carried, all of which are foreigners. Six are in the Singapore General Hospital, while the others who suffered only cuts and smoke inhalation were taken to Alexandra Hospital. An SGH spokesman noted that 4 out of the 6 were in intensive care. The ministry of manpower last night issued a stop-work order on all paintings at Kreuz.

Title: UP prices of eggs and some vegetables.(H1)

The prices of eggs and some vegetables have jumped at wet markets across the country. This comes just after Malaysia, singapore’s biggest food supplier, trimmed domestic fuel subsidies. The move has driven up transport costs for fresh-food importers. Malaysian transportation companies have informed importers that they would charge up to 30 percent more to haul leafy greens to Singapore.
